Instructor: Ruth Anne Merner
Supplies Required: All Supplies Provided and Use of Tools

“Cuerda Seca, “dry cord” in Spanish, is a traditional ceramic surface decoration technique used to create vibrant, mutlicoloured tile designs, originating in the Middle East during the 10th-century and later popularized in Spain,  It involves using wax resist to separate raised (3-D) glazes, preventing them from mixing.

Day 1 – Learn and practice the tecnnique; create simple slab work and plan design,

Day 2 – Apply resist and “wonder glaze” (stroke and coat) on bisque-fired slab pieces.

Pick Up and Display – date decided by class.

A great opportunity to give a historical technique a fresh, personal spin!
